Artificial Intelligence has revolutionized how we work, but the quality of your results depends entirely on how you ask. The right prompt transforms AI from a guessing engine into a precision tool. That’s why BC Consulting Group created the Prompt Frameworks Cheat Sheet; which is a compact, practical guide for anyone looking to level up their AI communication skills.
When using AI tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, or Copilot, small differences in wording can completely change the outcome. Prompt frameworks give you a consistent structure to clarify intent, define context, and shape better responses, especially in fast-paced business settings where clarity and efficiency matter most. Last week, at the Global Clinical Supplies Group's European Knowledge Forum (GCSG - EKF for short), BC Consulting Founder and CEO, Bryan Clayton, had the privilege of co-hosting 2 bootcamps and 2 workshops on Artificial Intelligence in the Clinical Supply Chain. Prompt Engineering was just one of many important topics covered.
Our conversation about prompt engineering revolved around how to refine the voice and the depth of the response that your AI LLM is giving you. The outline below is a cheat sheet that includes six frameworks that fit different use cases:
C.R.E.A.T.E. — Define context, request, assumptions, tone, and expectations for precise, predictable outputs.
I.D.E.A. — Initiate, Define, Explore, and Advance for structured brainstorming and iterative refinement.
P.R.O.M.P.T. — Focus on purpose, role, and key parameters to generate expert-level content.
R.A.C.E. — Compare alternatives and evaluate decisions effectively.
D.E.E.P. — Dig into root causes, analyze options, and propose solutions.
G.R.A.S.P. — Stay grounded in goals, resources, actions, and pitfalls for realistic planning.
Each framework is concise, memorable, and adaptable across roles from marketers to analysts to developers. BC Consulting recommends that teams conduct a lunch-and-learn or other type of group meeting to examine the inputs and outputs that are generated from the different prompt frameworks.
Included in the guide, that you can download for free, is a meta-prompt called the Ultimate Prompter, based on the C.R.A.F.T. model (Context, Role, Action, Format, Target Audience). It’s designed to help you create your own high-performing prompts. This is a must-have for anyone building AI workflows or training custom assistants.
This resource is part of BC Consulting’s mission to help organizations turn AI into a practical productivity multiplier. As the cheat sheet reminds us: AI doesn’t replace great human thought; it helps us get there faster.
